His unique approach using the ART (Active Release Techniques) in conjunction with his expertise on sports related adjustments has helped me compete at the world class level. I couldn’t recommend a better doctor with the actual knowledge and ability to make you become a higher performing athlete.”

Foot Pain

“I have had issues with my foot for years now.  I have seen Dr. Wells twice, and I regret waiting so long.  My foot feels so much better after only two visits.  The office setting is very comfortable and welcoming.  Booking my appointments was quick and easy, and  I was able to get in right away.  Dr. Wells did not try to sell me on anything, unlike my last chiropractor.  I will definitely go back if I have any future needs.” – Kristine B.

Hip Pain

“Big thanks to Dr. Chad for helping me with hip pain so that I can continue training for the Carlsbad half-marathon. The pain is gone! I’ve always wanted to achieve something like this and was worried I would have to stop, but thanks to Dr. Chad I am still working towards that goal! The other half of the experience was the great customer service from the support staff/receptionist – very friendly and helpful!” – E.F

“Empathy, intuition, and compassion in every visit for the 3 years.  Dr. Chad is truly amazing in his neurological, Orthopedic and overall medical knowledge which leads to a truly integrated diagnosis and treatment consistently.  i guess hIs office attracts the tough clients like athletes cause he is different. Infrared and cold laser treatment  along with custom fitted insoles also helped me get back to the gym again.”  – Robert T.

“it’s simple:  If you are active and you are hurt….you see Dr. Chad. Problem solved.

Honestly, going through my HMO is more painful than any injury I have ever had.  Any time I have had an issue, Kaiser says to rest and take pain meds.  Or…I have to wait months and months to see a specialist.Dr. Chad gets you up and running (literally) QUICKLY.  I have never had a problem getting an appointment…and he takes the time to listen and he truly cares (or is really, really, really good at pretending like he cares).  Either way…he rocks!  Ha! He is honest…and if he says take a break…I would take a break!  I guarantee, you will be up and training again before you know it, though. If my insurance covered him, I would be there all the time….I recommend him to every single person I meet that has any kind of sports injury…and not one person has said anything but THANK YOU!, GO SEE HIM!” – Mark M.

Back Pain

“Dr. Chad is a great chiropractor who has earned the trust and respect of well-known athletes, billionaires and commoners like myself , I had some troubles with my back and Dr. Chad fixed them on the first visit. I would recommend Dr. Chad to anyone for a weekly or monthly visit to tune up the areas you are having pain. Thanks Chad for being an expert in your trade, the personal care and professional results!” – Brian H.

Achilles

“Dr. Chad Wells rocks!  I’ve battled achilles issues over the past 8 years and have seen other sports doctors but Dr. Chad was the first to explain and show me the biomechanics of how everything should work and showed me how it wasn’t working correctly.  He’s fixing me up for the RNR and I have total faith and trust that I’ll be in tip top shape to complete this race.

Highly recommend Dr. Chad if you’re battling any type of sports injury – he knows his stuff!!!  Don’t wait, come in and get fixed up” -Holly K.

“For my first visit, it was a nagging unstable shoulder. Ok both but i was focused on the less of the two.
I was referred by my trainers at Victory MMA. I read his yelp reviews, I checkout the web site and was stoked to  find out he did A.R.T.active release technique. I responded well to this type of treamanet before..so i love it, BUT… It is not the most fun time one can have and certainly not “relaxing”
However.. it was AWESOME.. He worked on both shoulders and other parts that contributed to the issues at hand. His A.R.T. technique is the most comfortable form i have had. phew!
But wait there’s more…
Have you ever been to a Doc that doesn’t work with high level competitive athletes or is non-athletic? I have. 🙁 face, very sad face!
They don’t understand why a generic treatment plan of icing, taking some pills and “resting” is NOT what i need or an option. Esp. with a competition coming up. They don’t understand me and they don’t get it.
Dr, Wells does.
I can tell him exactly what i did in practice and why i think that particular event has brought me in. He does his tests and explains what is going on with my body and how were going to resolve it.
He gets my body back on track so i can continue to do the things I love to do.

AWESOME!” – Vik M.

“I met Dr. Chad through Team In Training.  He helped my with my ankle issues while training for my marathon.  Dr. Chad is very personable, explains chiropractic terms and procedures so it is easy to understand.  I know I can play hard, run until my hearts content and know that if I need adjusting Dr. Chad will fix me up!  My fiance also uses Dr. Chad’s services, he has back pain due to an injury from a car accident.  Robert swore he would never let a chiropractor touch his back because they all hurt him.  Dr. Chad made him a deal come see me if I make it worse then you will never have to see me ever again.  Robert now refuses to see anyone but Dr. Chad.  Dr. Chad Wells is a very well rounded specialist he can treat not only athletes but also people with back injuries like Robert.  Dr. Chad always continues to learn new techniques and pursues additional training to help improve the health of his clients.” -Susan Bastrom & Robert Ames

*************************************************

“Dr. Chad is not a typical chiropractor…he is a miracle worker!!  He uses his different modalities (Quantum Neurology, Laser, etc.) to work together to align and strengthen my body to perform in Ironman triathlons and other races.  He is so good that I now only see him from time to time for preventative maintenance and minor issues that arise but I no longer have the pain and issues I used to have with running and training.

While he’s amazing with athletes, I’ve also referred my 81 year old mom from Minnesota to him for her hips/legs.  She flew here from Minnesota and saw Dr. Chad for a couple weeks.  She left feeling so much better and was hooked as well.

He genuinely wants to heal your body so you don’t need to see him!  Every person I’ve referred to him has become a fan.  I’m positive you will too!” – LuAnne H.

“I have been seeing chiroprators since I was a kid.  Dr Chad is one of the best and I have ever been to.  For more than 5 years Dr Chad has been treating me for a variety of different reasons and I always feel 100% better after each visit.  Dr Chad is awesome!” –Maria D.

*************************************************

“Earlier this year I went to see Dr. Chad for a problem I was having in my hip/IT band area.  Prior to seeing him I had tried multiple things over several months to help with my condition which included; going to my primary MD, physical therapy, various topical pain relievers and some anti-inflammatory meds.

Honestly I wasn’t sure what a chiropractor would be able to do but figured I would give it a shot since other things hadn’t worked up to that point. Boy was I shocked with the outcome! After just my first visit I had a huge improvement in my flexibility and was able to get around not feeling as though I was 89 years old!! Not only could I move around better I was also pain free!!! YEAH!!  I can’t even explain what exactly Dr. Chad did, but he is truly amazing and I would definitely recommend him. He works magic and I have experienced it firsthand!!

Dr. Chad has years of experience treating people from Elite and  Olympic athletes to your regular ol’ person just like me. If you are having issues due to a injury and are in need of treatment or rehab  Dr. Chad is your guy!!!” – Xteen S.

“As one experienced as seeing different practitioners, the thought that a chiropractor would not try and sell me a package of visits is astounding.  Dr. Chad fixed my locked-up leg/hip in two visits!

Going to see him now for my shoulders – I would love to throw over-hand again as I had surgery on both shoulders – rotator cuff and impingement.

Dr. Chad has my full endorsement.” –D.R. Peck

“The League Chiropractic is home to two professionals – Dr. Todd and Dr. Chad.  Having only been seen by Dr. Chad, this review is just about my visits with him.

I decided to do a primary visit about 9 months after getting really into Olympic weightlifting.  It’s not that I was particularly falling apart, but I did have some issues I wanted to address.  In the first visit, he got a huge amount of range of motion (herein to be called “ROM”) back in my toes, something that I didn’t really think was possible or that I had lost it in the first place.

After that, he went through a very systematic approach of testing ROM and strengths, making tweaks using a combination of what seems like a flashlight for your nerves and also some manipulative techniques that’s popularly known as Active Release Therapy (I think it’s just a fancy way of saying “massage”), and then he re-tests to see if there’s improvement.  The good news: there was ALWAYS improvement.

After my first visit I felt new and improved, but he also assigned me homework to ensure that I can continue to reap the benefits as long as possible.  Foam roll. Every day.

Makes sense though.  It’s like the dentist telling you to floss every day.  In this case, I have to floss my legs and back every day.

I recently had a second visit with Dr. Chad after suffering a wrist injury back in December when I dropped 252 pounds of weight on my left wrist.  You can see it here: http://youtu.be/kzB25pK5…

Dr. Chad used the same approach with the test, tweak, and re-test, and I got a huge amount of ROM in my wrist back.  I’m not 100% back to normal, but it was greatly improved, and because of his approach of test/re-test, it’s easy to appreciate and know that something has been fixed.

In short, I recommend Dr. Chad.  I think most of his clients are runners or cyclists, but even being a weightlifter, there was still something that he could help me with.” – Wilmar D.

Shin Problems

“Dr. Chad is awesome!  I was recommended to see him through Team in Training, since I was having horrible problems with my shins.  After a few sessions and foot adjustments, I began to feel better.  He has been extremely patient with my body’s stubbornness to cooperate, and when a sports dr. at Kaiser told me to “quit running and all your problems will go away,” Dr. Chad stuck with me, because he believed we could get through the injury.

I’m currently training for another 1/2, and he’s helped me with shin problems last year, knee issues this year, MRI’s and frustration. He takes his time to analyze the issue, explains everything he is doing, what he’s looking for, what exercises to do to help get through the issues, and how you may have been injured to begin with.

I will continue to go see him if anything creeps up during training, and highly recommend him to anyone with an injury, or just in need of an adjustment!” – Sheena C.

Foot and Knee Pain

“I first met Dr. Wells at the AFC Expo in August.  I stopped by his booth to ask him questions about what I can do to lessen the pain in my left foot and knee.

Within minutes he had determined that the foot and knee pain was because of the left foot bunion I had.  He showed that the left big toe was locked up, not bending and not getting the same range as my right toe.  Because of this it was causing more pressure in my left foot when I run and causing my calf and IT band to tighten which was then causing my left knee problems!

So after I ran the AFC, I set up a consult with Dr. Wells.  A couple minor bone adjustments in my foot followed by some agonizing massage of the quad and knee areas, I could feel the instant relief!  I was now able to walk down the stairs without whencing!

I came back for one more follow up and that was it!  Two treatments!  Dr. Wells did advise me to use the foam roller on a regular basis during down time to massage out the tightness in those problem area.

The only drawback is I wished he was in my insurance network.  But I think he’s worth paying out of pocket for.  I highly recommend Dr. Wells to anybody who has problems relating to sport injury…he knows what he’s doing!” – Beth G.

*************************************************

“Dr Wells has helped me with sports related shoulder pain and general back and neck adjustments. He uses great techniques and helps me understand what is causing my issues. I would recommend Dr Wells to anyone, and I have!” –Andrew R.

*************************************************

“I was devastated when I learned my Sports Chiropractor was leaving the area.  Fortunately, one of my co-workers recommended Dr. Chad, who also practices ART (Active Release Technique).  Dr. Chad rocks!  He always seems to fix the kinks, strains and sprains I’ve encountered over the years!  I wish he was in my insurance network so I could visit him more regularly!  Thank goodness for Flex Spending Accounts!” –Monica S.

*************************************************

“I’ve been seeing Chad Wells since around March. The first visit I was limping badly due to a degenerative left hip. Chad diagnosed the problem, did a small adjustment on my left foot, some other work, and asked me to walk around the office. I did and no limp–about 90% improvement. After a second adjustment I’ve been walking and doing other exercises with little or no discomfort. Remarkable, really. He has also helped increase the range of motion in my neck and loosened the muscles in my back. My wife now goes to see him and has had good results for other issues. I’ve sent friends who have also benefited. Chad has a caring and very pleasant attitude. This is not a traditional chiropractic practice, no pressure to come in three times a week. It is simply as needed with the emphasis on letting the body work with Dr. Well’s methods to optimum health..” –Jake M.

Back Pain and Chronic Knee Pain

“I was referred to Dr. Wells through a friend after I had a car accident and with whole lot of pain in my upper back. I never believed in Chiropractice before or didn’t know much about it, but Dr. Chad was so personal and through and explained everything to me while working on my back that made me wanna find out more and came back until I realized how much improvements I had. Not only he helped me with my back but also with my knee’s chronic pain that I had learnt to deal with. He fixed my knee so I didn’t have any pain anymore and that was something i had not experienced for many years. I refer him to all my friends and relatives all the time. I had moved out of San Diego for a few years and was always sad that didn’t see Dr Chad when needed, but thank god I’m back in San Diego and scheduled an appt immediately.”-N.M

*************************************************

“Chad Wells is amazing.  Great personality, caring, fantastic results.  I have been a chiro patient in other offices before and have never had this kind of experience.  The team makes me feel like they are invested in my overall health and have introduced me to the range of healing that chiro can offer.” –Laurie K.

*************************************************

“Dr. Chad is amazing!  Our daughter is a cross country runner, and he has been such an important part of her training and conditioning program.  He has helped her recover from several injuries incurred while training much more quickly (we believe) than if she would have followed the typical rehab regimen.  He also helps her prevent injuries by educating her and keeping her in balance.  In addition, he is such a personable, upbeat and caring professional.  He is very accessible and, we believe, truly interested in her success.  We are so happy that we were referred to him.” –SG J.

************************************************

“As a runner who logs a lot of miles, I have seen many doctors/chiropractors over the years and I can say without hesitation, these guys are the best of the best. I have seen both Dr. Todd and Dr. Chad and my words can’t do them justice. They are the go-to doctors for any athletes in San Diego! You have to experience it for yourself. They have helped me with everything from conquering a serious knee injury to the all-important tuneup before a race. They are also big advocates of passing on tips and exercises, so I’m able to be proactive and not always rely on them. I owe them a lot for how well I have been running recently.” –Garret S.

************************************************

Shoulder Injury

“Dr. Chad does amazing work and it is not limited to just your back and neck as some people expect from a chiropractic office.  I went in on a recommendation from my wife’s family who know him and had a variety of problems all over my body.  I had injured my shoulder in college and it never healed right.  Because of that I was not able to raise my arm all the way up from my side to  my head; it stopped where it made a 45 degree angle with my head.  After one appointment with Dr. Chad he was able to jokingly hit me in the head with my own arm.  Aside from just the results, his knowledge of the body and how everything is interconnected is amazing.  He understands that pain in one area of your body can be related to something that you would never even think of and he treats it based on that root cause, not just the area that hurts.  He is a true professional.” –Kellen S.

************************************************

“Dr. Chad and The League Chiropractic are amazing!  I was referred through Team in Training in 2006 for knee issues.  Since then, Dr. Chad has helped me with rehab from a shoulder replacement and has kept me in shape through 2 pregnancies.  I also credit Dr. Chad for helping my 2-year-old son overcome chronic ear infections!  I highly recommend them. Wonderful, friendly service with unquestionable results!!!” –Emily Z.

************************************************

“Dr Chad is great!!! Unlike many of the other reviewers, I am not an athlete, but have a desk job where I spend 8+ hours a day messing up my back, neck, hips, etc by lack of movement.  Several of my colleagues recommended him, and I’ve been seeing him for about three years for monthly tune ups, and the occasional emergency fix for something that aches especially bad or gets pulled/strained. Chad is professional, friendly and really knows what to do to make your body realign. Five stars!!!” –Kasey M.

************************************************

“I met Dr. Chad Wells at the America’s Finest City Half-Marathon Expo.  He showed me the difference between my bio-mechanics and my husband’s.  It was definitely revealing as to why I get injured often and my husband does not!  I went to see Dr. Wells from Orange County even though he is 1-2 hours away (depending on traffic).  He explained everything he was doing and even offered referrals so I don’t have to travel down South.  His offer to refer me elsewhere spoke VOLUMES.  I won’t be going anywhere else!  That was my first half-marathon and I am hooked, and though my doctor told me to stop running, Dr. Wells is helping me to run!  Don’t let injuries stop you from running.  Let Dr. Wells help you achieve your goals.” –Elva F.

************************************************

“Chad Wells at The League is the real deal. I’m a runner and have had an injury that no one could seem to figure out. Chad was recommended to me as someone that understands runner’s issues and is in fact a runner himself. Just 2 visits and I was back running pain free.” –Art H.

************************************************

“Dr. Chad Wells is great to work with and is an expert on pinpointing your trouble spot, and working wholistically with you on daily exercises you can do to relieve pain and increase blood circulation. I especially appreciated the infrared technology that he used to increase my circulation at the base of the neck, which was causing my shoulder pain. I’ll be coming back for another appointment this month.”-Cin D.

************************************************

“Dr. Chad Wells and The League have been awesome.   My son had issues with his right arm from throwing a baseball (pitching and playing infield) in high school.  After 3 sessions the issues were resolved, he pitched and played for the last 9 months pain free and injury free.  He plays with confidence and comfort that he is healthy.  We continue monthly with check ups and adjustments, and it has been key to his arm strength and health”-Steven M.

************************************************

“I’ve been going to Dr. Chad for about 2.5 years.  He is wonderful.  I am not a runner, but I am active and had hip problems for years (I was in my late 20ies when the hip pain started).  I had seen other chiropractors, but the hip pain always came back.  Since I’ve been seeing Dr. Chad, my hips have felt wonderful, and I’m not in pain anymore.  Dr. Chad is friendly and professional as is his staff.  I am so glad that he was recommended to me.  I highly recommend him.” –S M.

************************************************

“I’ve been going to Dr. Chad close to 2years.  I’ve always been extraordinarily pleased with the results. Whether it’s my ankle, my back, shoulder or foot, he always knows what’s going on and how to improve it so I can continue exercising and playing tennis.  Not only is he an amazing professional but he’s also a great guy.  Jennifer at his office is also very pleasant and welcoming.  I recommend him to everyone”  –Noemi A.

************************************************

“When miss step while running left my Achilles damaged and had me hardly weight bearing Dr. Chad had me not only up and walking after two visits but also had me able to compete successfully two weeks from injury in an Olympic Distance Triathlon that I had been training for months for. I love the kindness and care that I have received from Dr. Chad Wells!” –Suzanne E.

IT Band Injury

“Dr. Wells is AMAZING!!!!  I tell people he practices voodoo because I don’t know how he got me up and finishing my marathon in 2010 with my IT band injury, but he did.

I’ve seen him several times since then with other minor injuries and he has always gotten me up and running in no time.  He is very thorough in his exam and explains what he is doing and explains how you got the injury in the first place.

I recommend him to EVERYONE I meet and for those that have gone, he has not disappointed.” –Heather L.

Knee Injury

“An exceptionally amazing chiropractor! When I injured my knee training for my first Rock n Roll marathon all of the doctors I saw told me I would have to sit it out. Devastating news after months of hard training! Fortunately, one of my running buddies recommended Dr. Chad. He isolated the problem to my metatarsus and after some quick adjustments the pain was gone and I was able to go out running the next day, and finished my first marathon with no problems! If it weren’t for him, none of it would have been possible. He knows his stuff, he’s a great communicator, I trust him implicitly. Best doc ever!!” –Sari T.

************************************************

“Truly an honest, caring professional. Spent one hour with me vs. the 5 minutes I’m used to at normal chiropractors.
There’s a reason most of the major athletes in San Diego see Dr. Chad — his treatments work and he knows sports injuries. Highly Recommended.”-Memberof M.

************************************************

“I guess I don’t qualify as the typical League patient: I am an unathletic middle aged masonry contractor with a paunch who doesn’t do marathons and so forth.

However, that did not stop Dr. Chad from accepting me as a patient and righting some wrongs in my back and feet. I would say that after 6 weeks, I am about 40% less painful. The good news is that once I had started there, there was never a backslide into more pain to get less pain. Dr. Chad called this trend of “worse before better” the “recovery signs B.S.” that other doctors call it when they hurt you accidentally on purpose.

I suppose that if a doctor is an expert in the pounding a person takes over what, 20+ miles of running, then they must know how to help the average guy or gal through their pain and posture.”-Gary G.
